I'm "Me" and I wanted to have a place where I can share my "non-Facebook interests". Facebook is amazing, but face it. You don't always want everyone seeing everything. Some things are good for some people; an intended audience.
For example:
Aunt Ethel doesn't necessarily need to know that I appreciated and at the same time knew I'd never eat the pickled herring she made for me last Christmas. For one thing, telling her would hurt her feelings. Having been brought up to know that hurting feelings isn't cool or fun, I'd rather share my thoughts and feelings about Aunt Ethel's pickled herring a little more anonymously than posting it to her facebook feed. I can already hear the phone calls...
Of course the above is merely an example of something I'd like to share and at the same time NOT hurt feelings of a caring, loved one indiscriminately. There is no Aunt Ethel, but you get my point.
That is what this blog isn't and why Facebook isn't the place for it.
Now, for what it is.
I want to make you think (and if you laugh, great). My plan is to make this a place where you'll find that which is so absurd, it'll make you say, 'WTF?". Some of it will either make you wax nostalgic for a time gone-by (whether you lived through it or not) or maybe it will give you a window into how and why things are and how they came to be. We do not live our lives secluded in a vacuum. Things that happened before (whether we experienced them personally or not) definitely affect the way things are, today. I want to help you stop and think about how those outside forces have shaped you and your mind; your way of thinking. If I can make you stop and think about the why behind headline, soundbite or blurb, I have done my job. If you uncover truth, all the much better.
FYI - I get a little dramatic, sometimes. So when you hear me compare Trump to Hitler, bear with me because I have a point. This won't be a political blog in as much as I will not be taking sides with one party or another. I promise to be an equal opportunity voyeur and "hater" when it comes to the absurdity of politics, regardless of party, nationality, religion, sex, race, age, obesity or anything else.
It's my hope that what I show you will make you consider new and different paradigms when it comes to the way or how you think about things. At minimum, maybe you'll learn a new word like "paradigm".
I also become long winded, so I think this is a good spot to wrap things up.
With Love,
Me
